Headquartered in Cato, NY, VanNorstrand Oil Company LLC services and delivers to Cayuga, Onondaga, Oswego, Wayne & Seneca counties. Our company specializes in home heating oil deliveries as well as offering a wide variety of products for our commercial, farm & non profit customers. Such products include, heating oil, farm diesel, highway diesel, gasoline, non ethanol gasoline, dyed kerosene and clear kerosene. We also offer full service cleaning and installation for all oil burning appliances and air conditioning installation and maintenance.
Our company started out of the mind of our founder Russell VanNorstrand, who was a man trying to provide for his family. In the late 1950’s, Russell was trucking alfalfa (hay) from his home in Central New York to Pennsylvania everyday in order to provide for his mom, sisters, and his growing family. While doing this, he would then drive back home with coal back to the area to help provide for the growing need to keep the homes warm during the brutal winters. After doing coal for a period of time, oil run furnaces were becoming a safer and cleaner burning alternative to coal. Add owning a full service gas station to the mix, and the rest is history.
Now the company is expanding to the third generation of VanNorstrand’s and has continue to grow with each passing year. The company is now owned by Russell’s son, Wayne, and daughter-in-law Debbie VanNorstrand. While the industry can be volatile with it’s pricing in the market, here at VanNorstrand Oil, we understand our customers needs. We provide not only fuel, but a relationship with our customer’s. Once you become part of our company, whether as a customer, vendor or an employee, we strive to treat you like family. Family is important to this company, because without family we would not be the company that we are today. Every person has value and we want to honor that with the services that we can provide to everyone.

Heating oil
One of the most popular ways of heating homes in Central New York is burning oil. When we switched from coal to oil, we have found out the how much more efficient and safer of a commodity oil can be. You own your appliances rather than renting them like you do with most gas companies.
deliveries
We deliver to various residential, commercial, non-for profit and farms. Our trucks can hold three different compartments worth of products making more efficient and effective deliveries for our customers.
We offer automatic delivery service for our customers as well as a budget program that runs from August to July of the following year. Call our office if you are interested in these services

Our full service gas station is located at the four corners of Cato (where route 34 & 370 meet). Take advantage of our full service, because whether rain or shine, hot or cold, our employees are there to make sure you stay comfortable in your car while they pump and service your vehicle. Need new windshield wipers? Air tire pressure low? Need to replenished that engine oil? Stop in and our attendant will be happy to help you with whatever you need.
